These terms (also called our terms of service) cover your use of austinhouser.com and the communications you sign up for through it: the newsletter, replies to your messages, and text messages about calls you book. The site is owned and operated by Houser Media LLC, Austin Houser's company; where these terms say "I" or "me", they mean Houser Media LLC and Austin acting on its behalf. By using the site or opting in to messages, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the site. The Privacy Policy explains what information I collect and how I handle it.
Text messaging (SMS) terms
Program description. The Austin Houser SMS program is run by Houser Media LLC on behalf of Austin Houser. When you provide your mobile number and consent, for example by ticking the consent box while booking a call through the calendar on this site or by asking in writing to be texted, you agree to receive text messages from us. We use text messages for:
- Confirmations, reminders, and changes for calls you book, including rescheduling and cancellation links.
- Replies to questions you have asked us by text or through the site.
- Only if you have separately asked for them, occasional updates about speaking, coaching, and the book.
- Message frequency varies and depends on what you have booked or asked for.
- Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details of your plan.
- To opt out, text STOP to any message. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and no further texts unless you opt in again.
- For support, text HELP to any message and you will receive a reply with how to reach us, or use the contact form on this site and we will reply by email.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can book a call, buy the book, or work with me without agreeing to receive text messages.
- Age restriction. You must be 18 years of age or older to opt in to text messages. By opting in you confirm that you are.
- Carrier liability. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- The program is available on major US carriers. Texts are sent using automated technology to the number you provided; message delivery depends on your carrier and device.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The service providers that send messages on our behalf handle your number only to deliver them. Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
If you join the newsletter, you'll get it by email until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any issue or through the contact form. If you write to me through the contact or feedback forms, I'll reply by email.
Booking a call
Calls are booked through a scheduling calendar on this site. Please give accurate contact details so I can reach you, and use the link in your confirmation to reschedule or cancel if your plans change. I may need to move a call occasionally; if so, I'll let you know as early as I can.
Using the site
The content on this site is for general information. It reflects my experience and opinions and isn't professional, legal, medical, or financial advice; decisions you make based on it are your own. You may read, share links to, and quote short excerpts from the site with attribution. Everything else, including the text, photographs, logos, the name Austin Houser, and the title Tools for the Unknown, belongs to Houser Media LLC or to the people who licensed it, and may not be copied, resold, or used commercially without permission. Please don't use the site or its forms to send spam, malicious code, or anything unlawful.
Testimonials and feedback
If you submit feedback after a talk and tick the box allowing me to quote you, you give me permission to use your words, your first name, and, if you gave it, your company, in promotional material. You can withdraw that permission at any time through the contact form.
No warranties and limits on liability
The site and its content are provided as they are. I do my best to keep them accurate and available, but I can't promise they will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the site or to receive messages after that date means you accept the updated terms.
